chair CHer/ noun 1. a separate seat for one person, typically with a back and four legs. We recently remodeled our downstairs bathroom, which came out quite lovely. As is often the case though, when you make improvements to one thing you end up wanting to go around and make improvements to other things. Our lovely bathroom was, however, more costly than we first anticipated it would be and therefore did not leave much room in the current budget for other improvements. Undaunted, I have been busy this month making what improvements I can on my more limited budget. One thing that I did have to spend some money on was a new rug for the dinning room. There was an oriental style rug under the table which was fine except that one corner kept curling up. Nothing I did would stop this one section from curling and I tripped on it more times that I can count. So, since the family room rug had seen better days, we decided to put it there with the curly part under the sofa. For the new dining room rug we decided to go with something simpler and lighter and found a nice rug at Pottery Barn on sale. I also decided to recover the dining room chairs. I inherited the dining room set from my mother. It is your basic traditional formal mahogany set, a little on the shabby side now but somehow that's ok. I wanted to update it and tone down the whole formal look of it, The problem was fabric for the chairs. We had recently looked for new fabric but could not find any that we could all agree on and I was not looking forward to the prospect of shopping for fabric. What to do? Well after looking for inspiration on the net, I decided to create patchwork pieces to cover the chairs with. Not only did it make the set a look a little more fun and less formal, it gave me a reason to use up some fabric had been saving (read hoarding) for ages! Have a fun day!

Cynthia Completion com·ple·tion kəmˈplēSH(ə)n/ noun the action or process of finishing something. A while ago, I talked about a long term project I was working on. It was a hooked rug I was making using the scraps from my sewing business. I am happy to report that I finally finished the project! It took several years I will admit but now it's done and here it is: It fits perfectly by the side of my bed so I don't have to step on a cold floor anymore.
Now in need to find another long term project but I have not come up with one yet, although I do have some ideas. I'll keep you posted. Have a fun day! Cynthia "Old Groundhog stretched in his leafy bed. He turned over slowly and then he said, 'I wonder if spring is on the way, I'll go and check the weather today...'" Anonymous Apparently the local groundhogs have predicted 6 more week of winter. Since in my area it doesn't even seem like we have had a winter, I'm not sure what that means. I'm definitely seeing signs of spring in my yard! Have a fun day!
