Today I want to share with you the a quilt I made some years ago for a contest.  I have used a portion of this quilt on my home page.  My alter ego I guess. 

The theme of the contest was to do an art quilt based on a book.  I choose the book  Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy.  This is one of my favorite books.  I first read it when I was a young woman. The life of the Russian aristocracy seemed so exotic and extravagant, I was captured by the romance of it all.  

I used a variety of techniques to create this quilt including beading, embroidery and painting on fabric.
