noun grad·u·a·tion \ˌgra-jə-ˈwā-shən\
: the act of receiving a diploma or degree from a school, college, or university : the act of graduating
: a ceremony at which degrees or diplomas are given out

It is times like these that we often stop and reflect on our own lives, comparing our experiences to those of our children. In many ways, I feel that my experiences were vastly different from those of my children. We had no internet, no social media and every thing seemed so much simpler. The celebrations were back yard barbecues or pot luck suppers not elaborate parties at "venues."
Was it better for us? Who knows? Times change and we must embrace those changes and make the best of them.
What hasn't changed is that the pride we feel for our children's accomplishments and our hopes for our children's success and happiness is the same as our parents felt for us. We are now the ones sitting around the table reminiscing while our children go out to create their own memories and experience their own milestones.
For everyone who is celebrating a graduation: CONGRATULATIONS.
Have a fun day!
