On a Trip to Nashville, TN

Nashville
City in Tennessee
Nashville is the capital of the U.S. state of Tennessee. Legendary country music venues include the Grand Ole Opry House, home of the famous “Grand Ole Opry” stage and radio show, in Music Valley. The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and historic Ryman Auditorium are Downtown, as is the District, packed with legendary honky-tonks, dive bars and dance halls.
Our recent family vacation was to Nashville, TN.  Unfortunately, my children did not have their spring break at the same time so the oldest was not with us.  However, my cousin who lives in Florida drove up to meet us so that was fun.  While where we stayed was on the outskirts of down town Nashville, we did make a few excursions into the down town area.

Of course we went to the Honky-tonk section which I can only describe as crazy town!  Between all the people on the streets and the music blasting out of every bar it was like a non-stop party.

Of course, I had to buy new boots.  My cousin, who had no intention of buying boots saw those purple boots and couldn't resist.

We visited the Parthenon one of Nashville's historic sites which is a full-scale replica of the original Parthenon in Athens. It was built in 1897 as part of the Tennessee Centennial Exposition.

Another place we went to visit was the Antique Archaeology store which is operated by the American Picker guys.  We watch the show once in a while and it was fun to see some of the things they bought on TV in the store.

All in all, Nashville is a very fun town.  Since we were only there for a short trip, there were lots of things to see that we didn't get to.  I guess we will just have to go back!

Have a fun day!
