On Re-inventing Yourself and Thanks

"If you can think it, you can do it."My Mother

So here I am with my new website.  While it is still not done, being a work in progress, I am happy with what I have created so far.  Now how this whole website thing came to be is a bit of a story that starts in the Year of the Dragon.

I am a Dragon.  Well, my Chinese Zodiac sign is a Dragon.  During the last Year of the Dragon, I turned 60.  I was at a Chinese New Year celebration where oldest daughter was performing with her dance troupe.  While talking with one of the other Moms, I told her I was a Dragon.  Now Chinese people are very polite and would never ask someone their age outright, but she was able to figure out that I was 60 based on the animal signs of the  12 year Zodiac cycle.  Now the 12 year cycle of animal signs is also combined with a 5 year cycle based on the 5 Chinese elements of Metal, Water, Wood, Fire and Earth. In the Chinese culture 60 is considered a year of rebirth because at 60 you have completed one entire cycle.

Needless to say I loved that idea!  So I decide to reinvent myself through technology. Now, as someone who had to be dragged into the 21st Century kicking and screaming, if you told my 5 years ago that I would have a couple of online stores, a website, a Blog of all things I would not have believed it, but here I am.  So if you want to re-invent yourself at any age, if you can think it you CAN do it.

Now I did not get here alone, which brings me to my next point.  I want to thank all the people who have helped me.  First my husband who supports me in everything I do and puts up with my terrible housekeeping.  My children, who  help me understand the world of social media and also, all the great folks at Weebly without whom I could not have built this website.

Have a fun day!
Cynthia
