spəˈləNGkiNG/
noun NORTH AMERICAN
the exploration of caves, especially as a hobby.
On our recent vacation to Nashville we found such a place. We decided to take a little day trip north to the great state of Kentucky to visit the Lost River Cave in Bowling Green, KY.
There are also many walking trails, where you can see the "Blue Holes" and other sites. On interesting thing was the Butterfly Habitat. Although it was not open for the season yet we did get to meet one of the ladies involved in maintaining it and the surrounding garden. We chatted about gardening and she pointed out the native columbine (Aquilegia Canadensis) which I had never seen. I have columbine growing in my garden but these were red and yellow not purple like mine. She promised to send my some seeds (which she did!) so I could plant them in my garden.
When we were heading out we decided to find someplace to eat. We came across a fun place called Chaney's Dairy Barn, and yes, it was on a dairy farm. The food was good but the homemade ice cream was fantastic!
Have a fun day!
