ˈəpˌsīkəl/
verb
gerund or present participle: upcycling
- reuse (discarded objects or material) in such a way as to create a product of a higher quality or value than the original.
For my business, I buy a lot of t shirts and other knits. While most of these are used to create my children's dresses, every once in a while I like to make something for myself. As I have mentioned before, I am a big fan of Alabama Chanin and the style of clothing this company produces. The great thing is that you can buy the books and patterns at their website and make the clothing yourself.
In the past, most of the clothes I have made from these patterns have been done using the reverse applique technique which is characteristic of their style. This time I decide to use one of these patterns to make a new top for myself but did it in the patchwork style I use for the dresses I make. Here it is.
